Sheikh Zayed Road is a Highway in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). E 11 Road is also known as "Sheikh Zayed Road" in Dubai. Sheikh Zayed Road is longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from Al-Silah in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends in Ras al-Khaimah emirate at the Oman border.
The Dubai-Abu Dhabi Highway of Sheikh Zayed Road links the two largest cities of the UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The highway becomes Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai and starts near Maqta Bridge in Abu Dhabi. The Sheikh Zayed Road is home to most of Dubai's skyscrapers, including the Emirates Towers. The highway is connected to Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. Sheikh Zayed Road was formerly known as Defence Road. The highway construction was completed in 1980.
